SUN WORLD HAS BEEN CALLED THE ‘GROWER’S BREEDER’ BECAUSE OF OUR DECADES OF HERITAGE AS A LARGE COMMERCIAL GROWER, BEFORE WE FOCUSED EXCLUSIVELY ON VARIETY DEVELOPMENT.
No other breeder understands the crushing challenges of weather, water, labor, and land management quite as clearly as Sun World does, because we lived it. This makes us uniquely sensitive to the pressures our licensees face.
A logical offshoot of breeding better fruit is the ability to share those genetics with a global audience. Sun World began our international licensing program 20 years ago and today, we are one of the foremost fruit licensors in the world.
In the coming years, Sun World will focus on continuing to optimize licensee returns through the introduction of a robust portfolio of much-anticipated new varietals. These new genetics will include table grapes; followed by offerings from our cherry, mandarin and mango programs; and adjacent crop opportunities we have yet to announce.
