Apple & Grape Chutney

Sweet and tangy, our apple & grape chutney can be perfectly paired with hard cheeses or added to a sandwich as a savory spread.

  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground mustard seed
  • 1 green chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 cup green seedless grapes
  • 3 green apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

  1. Combine spices, diced chili, onion, and vinegar in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes until the onions are soft.
  2. Add chopped apples, grapes, sugar, and salt and return to a boil. Reduce heat to a lively simmer and cook for 20-25 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  3. If freezing or refrigerating, transfer the chutney into sterilized canning jars leaving 1/2 inch space at the top. Wipe rims clean, cover, and let cool at room temperature before refrigerating or freezing. If storing at room temperature, process in a water bath.
  4. Serve with your favorite entree or side, and enjoy!

Chutney can be stored for up to 2-3 weeks in the refrigerator, up to 1 year frozen, and up to 1 year if processed in a water bath.
