Sun World built its early reputation through its portfolio of table grapes, which became globally known for superior quality, as well as for consistent in-the-field success. Over time, Sun World expanded its table grape range to include desirable offerings across grape color families, as well as more exotic specialty brands, renowned for unique flavor characteristics.
The company then decided to expand their focus in a meaningful way to stone fruit which, at the time, was a highly-seasonal offering with a tight production window, that failed to meet consumer demand for flavorful stone fruit year-round. Considerable resources were deployed for a decade or more that yielded Sun World’s important portfolio of stone fruit genetics of today – particularly plums (Black Diamond®, Red Diamond®); peaches (Amber Crest™); and nectarines (Super Star™).
